Minuteman III launch

Image via Wikipedia

In actions more reminiscent of the Cold War than modern times the foreign military intelligence directorate of the Russian General Staff (GRU) is reporting today that the Northern Fleet’s Yekaterinburg nuclear powered submarine successfully fired aRSM-54 Sineva (SS-N-23 Skiff in NATO classification) ballistic missile from theBarents Sea across the North Pole into theatmosphere over the Pacific Ocean where upon its deploying of an electromagnetic pulse (EMP“device” succeeded in destroying an American Minuteman III ICBM fired from Vandenberg Air Force Base inCalifornia.

United States Air Force Colonel Matthew Carroll in a statement to Americanpropaganda media organs stated that thedestruction of this Minuteman III ICBM was caused by an unexplained “flight anomaly” failing to mention the rapidly deteriorating relations between the US and Russia that in fact caused this incident to occur.

The taking down of this American ICBM was in “direct retaliation” for the United States unprovoked actions in slapping International travel restrictions on over 60 high ranking Russian officials the Obama regime said was justified for their alleged involvement in the killing of a prisoner in 2009.

Internet service providers dialup prepaid card...

This has actually precious little to do with finding pedophiles, and everything to do with spying on everyone using the net.

Lawmakers are about to push the American people under a bus with this legislation, and into the dark abyss of Code Napoleon Law, where everyone was considered guilty until proven innocent.

First and 4th Amendment to the Constitution, rest in peace; between this pending legislation, the Patriot Act, and the consistent, brutal beatings you have received at the hands of the likes of Janet Napolitano, Director of Homeland “Security” and John Pistole, Director of the TSA (Travel Suppression Agency), you have been thrown out as functioning legal protections for American citizens.

The House Judiciary Committee approved legislation on Thursday that would require Internet service providers (ISPs) to collect and retain records about Internet users’ activity.

CNET reported the bill would require ISPs to retain customers’ names, addresses, phone numbers, credit card numbers, bank account numbers, and temporarily-assigned IP addresses for 12 months.

The bill passed by a vote of 19 to 10, and is aimed at helping law enforcement track down pedophiles.

“The bill is mislabeled,” Rep. John Conyers (D-MI), a senior member of the panel told CNET. “This is not protecting children from Internet pornography. It’s creating a database for everybody in this country for a lot of other purposes.”

Knights Templar playing Chess. Biblioteca del ...

‘If the Fox News promoters of racial profiling had been in charge of investigating last Friday’s terror attack in Norway, they might well have encountered blond, blue-eyed Anders Behring Breivik and his two smoking-hot guns only long enough to ask if he’d seen any suspicious-looking Muslims around.

After all, it has been a touchstone of the American Right, as well as right-wing Israelis, that Muslims are the source of virtually all terrorism and thus it makes little sense to focus attention on non-Muslims. A clean-cut Nordic sort like Breivik, who fancies himself part of a modern-day Knights Templar, is someone who would get a pass.’

(This appears to be true on both sides of the Atlantic.)

And Frank Rich reports in a much-discussed piece in the New Yorker:

What haunts the Obama administration is what still haunts the country: the stunning lack of accountability for the greed and misdeeds that brought America to its gravest financial crisis since the Great Depression. There has been no legal, moral, or financial reckoning for the most powerful wrongdoers. Nor have there been meaningful reforms that might prevent a repeat catastrophe. Time may heal most wounds, but not these. Chronic unemployment remains a constant, painful reminder of the havoc inflicted on the bust’s innocent victims. As the ghost of Hamlet’s father might have it, America will be stalked by its foul and unresolved crimes until they “are burnt and purged away.”

CHICAGO (AP) — Illinois Rep. Joe Walsh, the tea party-backed Republican who squeaked into office last year by vowing to bring fiscal responsibility to Washington and who has been one of President Barack Obama’s most outspoken critics during the standoff over the debt ceiling, is being sued for more than $100,000 in unpaid child support, a newspaper reported.

The freshman congressman’s ex-wife, Laura Walsh, filed the claim against him in December as part of their divorce case, saying he owed $117,437 to her and their three children, the Chicago Sun-Times reported in a story published Wednesday. She contends that Walsh loaned his own campaign $35,000 and took international vacations but said he couldn’t afford child support payments because he was between jobs or out of work.

‘The Russian president’s special envoy to NATO, Dmitry Rogozin, on Thursday, rejected claims spearheaded by the United States against Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, IRNA reported.

We actively support the Iranian effort in its bid to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes and we are closely informed that Tehran does not possess any nuclear weapons to threaten any countries, Rogozin stated.

The Russian official reiterated Moscow’s stance on Washington’s insistence on deploying a missile system in Eastern Europe near the Russian borders to allegedly counter possible missile threats from Iran and North Korea against Europe.’

NASA satellite data from the years 2000 through 2011 show the Earth’s atmosphere is allowing far more heat to be released into space than alarmist computer models have predicted, reports a new study in the peer-reviewed science journal Remote Sensing. The study indicates far less future global warming will occur than United Nations computer models have predicted, and supports prior studies indicating increases in atmospheric carbon dioxidetrap far less heat than alarmists have claimed.

Study co-author Dr. Roy Spencer, a principal research scientist at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and U.S. Science Team Leader for the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer flying on NASA’s Aqua satellite, reports that real-world data from NASA’s Terra satellite contradict multiple assumptions fed into alarmist computer models.

Brunswick Church (Presbyterian), known locally...

Carol Ware Duff

While Americans are forced to move from their homes, due to the inability to pay real estate taxes, churches should not be allowed to ride the “no taxes” gravy train.

Mega churches around the United States are using a tax payer subsidized land grab to ruin our communities. These church conglomerates can buy property for next to nothing because they will have no taxes to pay, thus no overhead on the property.  Buildings they acquire can sit empty and decaying while  “defunding” education of the local area.

They are buying up America at an unprecedented rate with combined holdings that rival or even exceed the largest commercial real estate developers in the nation.  What was, decades ago, an occasional storefront church is now billions in holdings, a virtual industry onto itself, snatching up what had been the commercial life blood of America and converting it into an “evangelical gulag.”

The legislature has deemed that churches can be tax exempt.  Why are they granted this status?  Hey, I would like to be tax exempt too!  Unfortunately our Constitution left the door wide open for tax exemptions for churches.

What’s missing from the debt-ceiling discussion, albeit nothing new to DB readers, is spending on wars and the pentagon.  It’s not even being mentioned as a possibility in any of the competing debt plans, despite the following undeniably depressing and disgusting facts:

From Reddit:

I thought this kind of puts things in perspective.  In 2010, the US government collected $898 billion in federal income tax revenues.  The same year, we spent $847 billion on useless wars and national defense.  That means that 94% of all federal income tax revenue is equivalent to what we spend on the Pentagon.  Who out there thinks it was money well spent?

Also, just to piss you off a little bit more – defense spending is equivalent to 443% of what we collect in total corporate taxes. Yes, 443%.

A serious trend has been forming over the last several years. The hybrid offspring of post 9/11 have exploited the threat of the Islamic terrorist to its fullest extent, both profiting and fortifying their cyst in society along the way. While heroic efforts at deception may win many loyal subscribers, without sufficient proof, dissenters will surface and begin to question. Much to the appreciation of society, proof has been insubstantial and largely hypothetical so far. Imaginations have even been employed to run wild with hypothetical terrorist scenarios. Examples can be found in Dallas Boyd’s fantastic – but flawed – essay on The Virtues of Self Restraint, which intriguingly discusses the perils of modern security in an age of ominous threat agents. We might rejoice in the general failure of successful terrorist attacks, but only to find their is yet another monster lurking around the corner. This monster has yet to be specifically identified, but subjects such as journalists, activists, and “right wing extremists” have been implicated, along with individuals engaging in an extremely ambiguous description of “suspicious behavior”.

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

Frank Schaeffer

The Norwegian police on Saturday charged a 32-year-old man, whom they identified as a Christian fundamentalist with right-wing connections, over the bombing of a government center and a shooting attack on a nearby island that together left at least 91 people dead.

In my new book Sex, Mom and God I predicted just such an action. I predicted that right wing Christians will unleash terror here in America too. I predict that they will copy Islamic extremists, and may eventually even make common cause with them.

There is a growing movement in America that equates godliness with hatred of our government in fact hatred of our country as fallen and evil because we allow women choice, gays to marry, have a social safety net, and allow immigration from other cultures and non-white races.

According to the Guardian newspaper, the killer wrote:

“Today’s Protestant church is a joke,” he wrote in an online post in 2009. “Priests in jeans who march for Palestine and churches that look like minimalist shopping centres. I am a supporter of an indirect collective conversion of the Protestant church back to the Catholic.”

It seems Anders Behring Breivik longed for a “pure” and ultra conservative religion. He was a man of religious conviction, no liberals with their jeans need apply! Liberals beware.

Norway is just a first taste of what will happen here on a larger scale.
