ALARM – “We need to immediately extend the analysis to other wild animals as soon as possible and make clear the sources of contamination,” said Coldiretti. “The boars are animals sentinel pollution conditions in the areas where they live, because they provide precise information thanks to a certain way of exploiting the environment,”

Traces of cesium-137 found in samples of animals killed during the hunting season 2012/2013

The discovery does not make you happy hunters and lovers of game. Traces of cesium-137, a radioactive isotope released from the nuclear accident in 1986 by the Chernobyl plant, have been found in dozens of wild boars forests of the Sesia Valley, in the province of Vercelli.

We analyzed samples of tongue and diaphragm of animals slaughtered during the hunting season 2012/2013: 27 samples of the level of Cesium 137 is higher than the threshold specified by Regulation 733 of 2008 as the tolerable limit in the event of a nuclear accident.

(600 Bq/kg, although codex allows for 1250 bq/Kg as an average but will allow higher one off finds. The article has shied away from making an actual measurement, this is standard IAEA policy of non information,, So, where does THIS cesium 137 come from? It could be from one of the medical reactors or a culmination of all the most likely sources as cesium 137 lasts for 300 years. Are the cesium 137 levels increasing quicker than the decay rate? If so the implications are staggering! especially as the UK has stopped testing  Sheep from the highlands of Scotland and Wales for radioactive contamination  – Arclight2011)

According to the deputy of the Piedmont Region Roberto Ravello alarmism should be avoided because the health risks would be “contained and controlled.”

HYPOTHESIS - ‘The artificial radionuclide cesium-137 is produced by nuclear fission. Is released from nuclear sites, “says Elena Fantuzzi, head of the Institute of Radiation Protection Enea. The hypothesis most immediate are those that may have been issued after the accident in the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in 1986.

But we must also consider the nuclear sites in the area, including the central Trino Vercellese dismantled in 1987 and the experimental site Enea, in Saluggia. Is not excluded even the trail of toxic waste.

According Fantuzzi, you should also consider the metabolism of boars, whether has features that promote the accumulation of cesium-137 above the limits considered safe. “It can not be anything but the fallout of the Chernobyl plant emissions,” adds Gian Piero Godio, Legambiente Piedmont and Val d’Aosta, an expert on nuclear issues. “Other explanations could be: the district of Valsesia has no radioactive source.”

NAS AND NOE - Health Minister Renato Balduzzi alerted the police of Nas and Noe: together with the Directorate General for hygiene and food safety and nutrition of the Ministry will coordinate all investigations. The first coordination meeting is scheduled on March 8.

ALARM - “We need to immediately extend the analysis to other wild animals as soon as possible and make clear the sources of contamination,” said Coldiretti.

“The boars are animals sentinel pollution conditions in the areas where they live, because they provide precise information thanks to a certain way of exploiting the environment,” adds Aldo Grasselli national secretary of the Union of Italian public veterinary medicine (Sivemp).

SHTF Promo 300 x 250
Central banks are among the shrewd investors who buy gold bullion on dips.  When gold was weak during May to July of 2012, central banks actively bought nearly 71 tonnes.

Russia and Kazakhstan’s bought 12.2 and 1.5 tonnes in January, but until the IMF reports official activity, may help the very poor sentiment towards gold today. Central banks utilize gold bullion to diversify their holdings and limit their foreign exchange exposure.
It was reported that South Korea bought 20 tonnes of gold last month rumoured to be below the $1,600/oz mark. This is the first purchase this year for South Korea, after they purchased 30 tonnes in 2012.  Previously they purchased in July 2012 at the same price levels. [Read more...]

“Largest Act of Civil Disobedience in State History”

Mac Slavo

Jan 26, 2013

With emotions running high in the aftermath of the Newtown Sandy Hook shooting, politicians on the State and Federal level have begun introducing legislative actions to curtail access to firearms protected by the Second Amendment. In Missouri, parents may soon be forced to register firearms with their child’s school under threat of criminal penalties. In Massachusetts, another proposal would require storage of semi-automatic rifles at government approved storage depots. And, in the State of New York, congressional representatives have already passed legislation that requires registration of every semi-automatic rifle and reduces maximum magazine capacity to 7 rounds of ammunition, and Governor Cuomo has floated the idea of gun confiscation.

Now, in what is sure to be a growing trend across the entire country, New York gun owners are organizing a resistance against what many believe to be the most, “brazen infringement on the right to keep and bear arms anywhere in the nation,” according toThe New American:

Preparations are already being made for mass resistance.

“I’ve heard from hundreds of people that they’re prepared to defy the law, and that number will be magnified by the thousands, by the tens of thousands, when the registration deadline comes,’’ said President Brian Olesen with American Shooters Supply, among the biggest gun dealers in the state, in an interview with the New York Post.

Even government officials admit that forcing New Yorkers to register their guns will be a tough sell, and they are apparently aware that massive non-compliance will be the order of the day. “Many of these assault-rifle owners aren’t going to register; we realize that,’’ a source in the Cuomo administration told the Post, adding that officials expect “widespread violations” of the new statute.

Threats of imprisoning gun owners for up to a year and confiscating their weapons are already being issued by governor’s office, headed by a rabid anti-Second Amendment extremist who suggested before the bill passed that “confiscation” of all semi-automatic rifles was being considered. If tens or even hundreds of thousands of otherwise law-abiding citizens refuse to comply, however, analysts say New York would either have to start raising taxes and building a lot more prisons, or give up on the scheme that experts say will do nothing to reduce violence and that lawmakers say is aimed at eventual confiscation.

Activists involved in the state-wide boycott against the unconstitutional statute who spoke to the Post almost taunted authorities, saying gun owners would essentially dare authorities to “come and take it away.”

According to the paper, leaders of some of the state’s hundreds of gun clubs, dealers, and non-profit organizations, citing the New York Constitution’s guarantee that gun rights “cannot be infringed,” are currently involved in organizing the resistance. Among the primary concerns is that, with registration, authorities would know where to go for confiscation, an idea already proposed openly by Governor Cuomo himself.

“They’re saying, ‘F— the governor! F— Cuomo! We’re not going to register our guns,’ and I think they’re serious. People are not going to do it. People are going to resist,” explained State Rifle and Pistol Association President Tom King, who also serves on the National Rifle Association board of directors. “They’re taking one of our guaranteed civil rights, and they’re taking it away.”

Opponents of the right to bear arms, take heed. The American people know what you’re up to and they will not stand for it.

The resistance has begun.

(CNSNews.com) – Federal revenue will return to its pre-recession levels in 2013, according to projections from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), setting a record for the most money the government has ever taken in.

In its latest Budget and Economic Update, the CBO forecasts that federal revenue will top $2.7 trillion in 2013, slightly higher than the $2.6 trillion the government collected in 2007, when the last recession officially began.

Government revenues had fallen by nearly $500 billion during the recession to $2.1 trillion in 2009, contributing to the $1.5 trillion deficit that year. However, federal revenues have been recovering since the recession ended in June 2009, and the CBO now projects that they will slightly eclipse their pre-recession peak.

In fact, the $2.7 trillion in revenue will be the most money the federal government has collected in history.

According to historical tables compiled by the White House Office of Management and Budget, the government has never collected more than the $2.6 trillion it collected in 2007, meaning that if CBO’s projection is correct, it will set a new record for revenue collection in 2013.

This projection could undercut a key argument made by the White House that any balanced approach to deficit reduction must include more federal revenue in the form of “tax reform.”

“Now, I think this balanced mix of spending cuts and tax reform is the best way to finish the job of deficit reduction,” President Obama said in a speech on February 5.

Republicans counter that additional tax revenue is not necessary, citing the tax increases on wealthier Americans they agreed to as part of the January deal to make permanent most of the Bush tax cuts.

Instead, they argue, the focus should now turn to cutting federal spending rather than raising further tax revenues.

“Democrats say we should replace the president’s ‘sequester’ with revenue increases, or delay it.  Republicans say we should replace [it] with responsible reforms that will help put us on a path to balance the budget in 10 years,” House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said at a news conference on Wednesday.

conclave, 2013, catholic, priest, calls, for, next, pope, to, be, gay,
.

In a very strange update courtesy of PinkNews.com, which bills itself as Europe’s largest gay news service, a Catholic priest has apparently called on the conclave to elect a gay man to be the next pope, to avoid association with pedophilia.

Don Andrea Gallo, who is an outspoken advocate of LGBT right, had this to say to Italy’s Radio 24: “A homosexual pope would be a magnificent thing. The essence of the Gospel is that we are all God’s sons and daughters and we are all equal as God’s children. “The homosexual priest must be free to express his identity and his sexuality, because repression leads to pedophilia.”

After invading Iraq ten years ago, the United States spent $60 billion on a vast reconstruction effort that left behind few successes and a litany of failures, an auditor’s report said Wednesday.

The ambitious plan to transform the country after the fall of Saddam Hussein has been marked by half-finished projects and crushed expectations, according to the final report of the Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction, Stuart Bowen.

The aid effort was plagued by in-fighting among US agencies and an improvised “adhocracy” approach, with no one clearly in charge of a massive investment that was supposed to put Iraq on a stable footing, said the report to Congress.

“Management and funding gaps caused hundreds of projects to fall short of promised results, leaving a legacy of bitter dissatisfaction among many Iraqis,” it said.

Some of the reconstruction money was stolen, with a number of US military officers and contractors now imprisoned for fraud, while other funds remain unaccounted for to this day, it said.

Of $2.8 billion in Iraqi oil revenues handled by the US Defense Department, officials could not produce documents accounting for the use of about $1.7 billion, including $1.3 billion in fuel purchases, it said.

The lengthy report highlighted some of the worst examples of mismanagement and graft and included interviews with senior Iraqi and US officials who mostly regretted the outcome of the reconstruction program.

“The level of fraud, waste, and abuse in Iraq was appalling,” Senator Susan Collins, a Republican from Maine, was quoted as saying.

She was “especially angry when she learned that some reconstruction money found its way into the hands of insurgent groups,” the report said.

Both Iraqi and US officials agreed that the Americans ignored the advice of Iraqis or never bothered to consult them before launching costly projects, with sometimes disastrous results.

The litany of failures included a new police academy with raw sewage leaking through ceilings, a subcontractor charging $900 for a control switch valued at seven dollars and a project to build large prison in Diyala province that was eventually abandoned, despite an investment of $40 million.

Let’s try to spin this: “Gas demand is plunging on a soaring economy, a record DJIA and a more resilient consumer“… Hm, no, that didn’t work. Let’s give it another try: “Surge in sales of flaming paperweights known as Chevy Volts leads to a plunge in gasoline demand.” Uh, no. One last try: “Consumers migrate to Flintstonemobiles, gas up what internal combustion engine cars they have with redbull vodka“… Sorry, we suck at this “spin” stuff -  we will leave it to CNBC. They are the real pros.
