The Air Vehicles Directorate, a research arm of the Air Force, has released a computer-animated video outlining the the future capabilities of Micro Air Vehicles (MAVs).

Do you or others have a dog/cat/whateverwithexeptionalhearing, train them to mark when they hear the buss from a tiny electrical engine.
The low humm is probably to low to humans to hear, but animals have no problems with it.
That goes to bigger Drones outside, exactly like the “ill be back” senario, in the movie Terminator.
Sounds far fetched but its the best way to detect objects.
And the second option is someting most of you dont consider, but its everywhere, equipment I have used my self, its the Intercom, equipment used at many large fabrics, where they have earprotections with loudspeekers and microphone to comunicate with a sentral, usaly a process controll rom.
Anyone working in various bigg oil/gass plants have this equipment.
To verify my case, take this gear(if you have it) go outside and turn the mic secetivity up on full trotle and listen to sounds.
Try it and be baffeled, it actualy works and you can hear people talk in far longer distance that you may think or know.
This is also capable to hear low humms from low effect electical engines r rottor blades(it must fly, and anything that flys, pushes air).
